Biography

Wilhelm Franz List (November 22, 1864 – February 10, 1918) was an Austrian painter, engraver, and lithographer who emerged as a prominent figure in the Viennese Jugendstil movement during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Despite his significant contributions to the movement, List remains an enigmatic figure, with his personal life and artistic motivations shrouded in mystery.

Born in Vienna in 1864, List displayed an early inclination towards art and pursued formal training at the prestigious Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna.
