Walter Langley (1852–1922) was a prominent British artist associated with the Newlyn School, a group of painters based in the Cornish fishing village of Newlyn during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Born in Birmingham, England, Langley's artistic journey led him to become a key figure in the depiction of social realism and the everyday lives of the working class.

Langley initially trained as a porcelain painter before pursuing formal art education at the Birmingham School of Art and later at the South Kensington School of Art in London.
