Biography
John Terrick Williams, better known as Terrick Williams (20 July 1860 – 20 July 1936) was a British painter who was a member of the Royal Academy.

Williams was born on 20 July 1860 in Liverpool, England, the son of a businessman. He was educated at King's College School, Wimbleton, London and was expected by his father to continue in the family business. However, Williams showed an early interest in art, and he began to paint at a young age. He studied at the South Kensington School of Art from 1877 to 1882, and then at the Académie Julian in Paris from 1882 to 1884.

After returning to England in 1884, Williams began to exhibit his work at the Royal Academy and other major galleries. He quickly gained a reputation as a talented painter, and his work was widely admired for its Impressionist style and its use of bright colors.

Williams was particularly interested in painting landscapes, and he traveled extensively in search of subjects. He painted in many parts of England, as well as in France, Italy, and Spain. His landscapes are characterized by their loose brushwork, their sense of atmosphere, and their use of light and shadow.

In addition to landscapes, Williams also painted portraits, still lifes, and genre scenes. His portraits are known for their psychological insight and their sensitive portrayal of the sitter's personality. His still lifes are often of flowers or fruit, and his genre scenes often depict scenes of everyday life.

Williams was a member of the Royal Academy from 1894, and he was elected to the Royal Institute of Painters in Oil Colours in 1903. He was also a member of the Royal Society of British Artists, the New English Art Club, and the Society of Portrait Painters.

Williams is considered to be one of the leading British Impressionist painters. His work is characterized by its bright colors, loose brushwork, and sense of atmosphere. He is also known for his sensitive portrayal of the human figure.

Williams's work is held in several collections, including the Tate Gallery, the National Gallery, and the Royal Academy.
