László Philip Alexius de László (28 April 1869 – 22 November 1937) was an Anglo-Hungarian painter known for his refined technique, psychological insight, and ability to capture the essence of his subjects. Born Fülöp Laub in Budapest, Hungary, in 1869, de László displayed an early aptitude for art and received training at the Royal Hungarian Academy of Fine Arts under Bertalan Székely and Károly Lotz.
