Johan Barthold Jongkind (1819–1891) was a Dutch painter and printmaker who played a crucial role in the development of Impressionism. Born in the Netherlands, Jongkind's work is often associated with the landscapes of France, particularly the Normandy and Parisian regions. Jongkind began his artistic training in The Hague and later studied at the Académie de Beaux-Arts in Paris.
