Isidor Kaufmann (1853–1921) was an Austrian-Jewish painter known for his masterful depictions of Jewish life in Eastern Europe during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Born in Arad, Hungary (now part of Romania), Kaufmann's artistic career flourished in Vienna, where he became one of the leading genre painters of his time.

Kaufmann's work focused predominantly on portraying the daily life, traditions, and rituals of the Jewish community. He was particularly renowned for his intimate and detailed scenes that captured the richness of Jewish family life, religious ceremonies, and the cultural milieu of Eastern European Jewry.
