Franz von Stuck was a German Symbolist painter, sculptor, architect, and designer associated with the Jugendstil movement, a German variant of Art Nouveau. Born on February 23, 1863, in Tettenweis, Bavaria, Stuck played a significant role in shaping the cultural landscape of Munich during the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

Stuck initially studied at the Munich Academy of Fine Arts, where he gained recognition for his exceptional talent and was awarded numerous prizes. He later traveled to Paris and Vienna, absorbing the artistic trends of the time and establishing connections with prominent artists.

Returning to Munich, Stuck became a central figure in the city's vibrant art scene. His works are characterized by a fusion of Symbolism, Art Nouveau, and elements of mythological and allegorical themes. His paintings often featured sensuous, mystical, and fantastical subjects, exploring the boundaries between the earthly and the divine.
