Ernest Normand (1857–1923) was a British painter known for his historical and Orientalist works. Born in London, Normand began his artistic education at the Royal Academy Schools, where he developed a keen interest in historical and literary subjects. Normand's artistic style was heavily influenced by the Orientalist movement, which romanticized and idealized scenes from the Middle East, North Africa, and Asia.
