Thomas Edwin Mostyn (1864-1930) was an English artist who worked during the late Victorian and early 20th centuries. He is best remembered for his idealistic and romantic garden scenes, as well as his portraits.
Born in Liverpool, Mostyn was raised in Manchester. He studied at the Manchester Academy of Fine Arts and exhibited at the Royal Academy by the age of 29.
In 1893, he enrolled in the school of Sir Hubert von Herkomer, where he created realistic paintings depicting the poverty of the working class.
After World War I, Mostyn's style changed, and he began to paint enchanted garden scenes, which would make him famous. He held several solo exhibitions at the Fine Art Society in London during the 1920s. Mostyn died in Manchester in 1930 at the age of 66.
