David Farquharson (1840–1907) was a Scottish landscape painter acclaimed for his masterful depictions of the Scottish countryside, particularly its moody and evocative landscapes often featuring rugged terrains and atmospheric lighting.

Born in Aberdeenshire, Scotland, Farquharson initially worked in a bank before dedicating himself to art. He studied at the Trustees Academy in Edinburgh and the Royal Scottish Academy, honing his skills in landscape painting.
