Elie Anatole Pavil (1873-1934) was a Ukrainian-French painter who specialized in Parisian street scenes, canal views, and park landscapes. He was also known for his Impressionist-style paintings of Morocco.
Born in Odessa, Ukraine, Pavil moved to Paris in 1892 to pursue a career in art. He was strongly influenced by the Impressionists, and his work is known for its sensitivity to light and color.
Pavil exhibited regularly at the Salon des Artistes Français, Salon des Indépendants, and Salon d'Automne. He was awarded an honorable mention in 1928 and silver medals in 1930 and 1931. He was also made a Chevalier de la Légion d'Honneur.
Pavil's paintings are highly sought-after, particularly his views of the Seine and the streets of Paris. His portraits and Orientalist scenes are also highly prized.
